AIRPORTS & AIRFIELDS

If Aviation is your thing, then Wales is the place to be.

Wales only has one International Airport which is in Swansea, but there are many smaller airports and airfields that provide a range of pleasure flights and flight training both for Aeroplanes and Helicopters.

Welshpool (Mid-Wales) airport is the base of the Air Ambulances, it also has a great cafe at the side of the runway which is open to visitors.

The military has a big presence in Wales, from Fast Jet Training flights from the Valley in Anglesey and through the 'Mach Loop', to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones) at Aberporth. We might even be getting a Space Port!

YOU CAN'T GET ANY CLOSER THAN THIS !

The 'Mach Loop'

Grab your camera's, binnoculars, sunglasses and ear-plugs.
You can't get much closer than this !

The 'Mach Loop' enables you to get up close and personal to view or photograph Military Fast Jets, Transport Planes and Helicopters as they fly through just feet away.
Come and wave to the Pilots !

TELEVISION & RADIO

WOO - TV

Visitors staying in the area might be a little disappointed when they turn on their televisions, where most areas of the UK have up to 99 television channels, we have only a few. We have the old basics BBC 1, 2, 4, / ITV 1,2, 3, X, / Ch4, Ch5, More 4, Film 4 plus a few 'Plus 1' channels, but don't expect to be able to watch Pick, Quest or Dave.

Radio too can be intermittent due to the hills, Digital radio is very rare and channels are few.

But if you have an internet connection, you can view most TV channels and listen to your favourite radio using WOO-TV
