Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A470 at Storey Arms at just before 9.50pm (Tuesday, February 27).

Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a road traffic collision which occurred on the A483 Berriew towards Welshpool road at about 5am on Saturday, 23rd of December 2023.  The collision involved a pedestrian and a gold Volvo car. The accident happened around 7.30am on the A458 near to Bank Farm Caravan Park and involved a blue Honda Civic and a white service bus, which were travelling towards Shrewsbury, and a dark red Ford Fiesta which was travelling towards Welshpool.  Police have confirmed this morning that the 87-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the Ford Fiesta sustained serious injuries and passed away in hospital later the same day.  The driver of the Honda was taken to hospital. Dyfed Powys Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred on the A470 between Rhayder and Llangurig at around 8.55am, Sunday morning, 8th October 2023.  The male rider of a Black KTM Super Duke motorcycle sadly died at the scene.  Next of kin have been advised and are being supported by specialist officers.

Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a three-vehicle collision which happened on the B4362 between Presteigne and Combe at around 2.10pm on Wednesday, October 4.  A blue Suzuki motorbike, a silver Ford Transit van and a white Renault Megane were involved, with the motorbike rider sustaining serious injuries.  It is believed the Ford and Renault were travelling eastbound towards Leominster, with the motorbike going in the opposite direction. Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the A44 near Llandegley, Powys at about 10.30am, Thursday, 17 August 2023.   The vehicles involved were a black and yellow BMW motorcycle, a purple Mazda campervan, a silver Ford Fiesta and a silver Mitsubishi L200 pickup. Sadly the male rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A470 near Storey Arms at approximately 8.20pm on Tuesday, 25 July.  A 43-year-old man died at the scene after the red Ducati 848 he was riding was involved in a collision in the area known locally as RAC bends. At shortly before 9pm a grey coloured Saab and a Honda CB1100 were in collision on the A438 between Bronllys and Pontybat, a short distance from the Bronllys roundabout.  The rider of the motorbike sustained multiple serious injuries and remains in hospital where his condition is described as critical.  Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the grey Saab travelling in the general direction of Brecon, or the motorcycle travelling towards the general direction of Bronllys. A woman and two-year-old are fighting for their lives tonight after today’s collision on the border which close the main A458 road to Shrewsbury. The accident happened around 11am and involved a green DAF lorry and a red Vauxhall Astra car.

The car's female driver along with her young child both received life-threatening injuries, the woman was flown by air-ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and the child flown by air-ambulance to Birmingham Children's Hospital. The lorry driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by road ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury University Hospital.

A fatal RTC occurred on the A44 near Nantmel on Tuesday April 4 at approx. 1.50pm.

The collision involved a white Toyota Hilux and a grey BMW motorcycle. Both vehicles were travelling in the direction of Rhayader. Sadly the male motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The pillion sustained serious injuries and was conveyed by air ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries.

following an incident at around 2.50am this morning where a car mounted the kerb and struck two pedestrians outside the Grill Out takeaway. Both pedestrians were transferred to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance. Sadly one of them, a 22-year-old woman, died shortly after arrival. Her family have been informed. The second person sustained minor injuries. The vehicle involved is believed to be a light gold/champagne coloured Volvo. The vehicle and its driver have not yet been located.

Following a collision on the A458, between Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion, on Friday at around 4.10pm.

The road was closed overnight and police say it involved a Grey Mazda 6, a Black BMW X5, and a Blue Peugeot 208.

“Sadly, the occupant of the blue Peugeot, a 79-year-old male, passed away at scene,” the police said in a statement this morning. “Next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.”

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for information following a collision that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

Officers were called to the A470 between Llanidloes and Llandinam at around 11.25am on Saturday, 6 August, following a three-vehicle collision involving a grey Volvo XC90, a white BMW 330i and a red and white Yamaha FZ1 motorcycle.

Tragically, the 46-year-old rider of the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene.  The road was closed for several hours and reopened at 10.50pm.  A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing death by dangerous driving. Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the B4568 Aberhafesp to Newtown road, at approx. 4.50am this morning (Monday May 2). Officers attended the scene immediately, where the car - a blue Ford Fiesta, was found on its roof. Other emergency services were also in attendance, but sadly the one occupant of the car was declared deceased at the scene. Next of kin have been informed and are being supported.

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the A483, between Llanbister and Camnant, at approximately 7:30pm on Wednesday, 16th March.

The two-vehicle collision involved a white Toyota Yaris and a Volkswagen Passat. A 20-year-old woman and a 36-year-old woman were both taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries. One man and two children were also taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries, before being released.  The 20-year-old woman remains in hospital and has been described as stable but sadly, the 36-year-old woman later passed away.

Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a three vehicle road traffic collision on the A40, between Bwlch and Crickhowell, at approximately 10:15am on Wednesday 22nd December.

A Land Rover collided with a public transport bus after an oncoming vehicle caused it to break but thankfully, nobody was injured. Officers attended to assist with the blockage to the road and recovery of the vehicles. The local authority were informed due to spillages on the road. Both vehicles were recovered at approximately 12:10pm. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the oncoming vehicle involved in the incident.

The collision involved two cars, a black Nissan Navara and a silver Volkswagen Golf. Sadly, the 36-year-old man driving the Volkswagen passed away. Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A serious road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 3.25pm on the unclassified road from Llangattock to Llangynidr Mountain (B4560) involving three vehicles; a Suzuki Vitara, a Ford Fiesta and a Lorry. Three people were conveyed to hospital and the road was closed until 8.40pm. At around 4.30pm a fatal collision occured involving three vehicles, a Blue Ford Fusion, a Black Vauxhall Astra and a Morrisons lorry. At 5.50pm there was a fatal accident between a silver Suzuki motorcycle and a red Toyota Landcruiser on the A458 by the entrance to the Golf Course. A serious two vehicle head on collision happened around 07:10 on the B4386 requiring the drivers to be cut free by Fire & Rescue units and attended to by the Wales Air Ambulance.
